  • patio door french doorMost homes have at least one sliding glass door. They are, for the most part, uninspiring. But they really don’t need to be. Sliding glass doors, like windows, have a variety of grid style options. Grids are the line elements sandwiched in-between the panes of glass. The grids come in vinyl or brass, are configured in a variety of base designs and can even be customized depending on the door style chosen.

Another upgrade option is switching to a French door. French doors, if you are unfamiliar, are a set of doors facing each other that both open out or in with no center pole. Most people agree that your basic French door is just a little more glamorous than a sliding door.  French doors have all the same window and grid styles available with a sliding glass door. They also can have blinds imbedded in the door instead of grid lines. French doors also differ from sliding doors in the handle options. Sliding glass doors usually have fairly simple and limited options whereas French doors come with more elegant style choices.
